Dr. Yusuf Shubbar Sharaf is an accomplished orthopedic and trauma surgeon based in Bahrain with a specialized focus on spine surgery, honed through extensive training in France. He is the founder and director of Alsharaf Orthopedic and Spine Center in Manama, Bahrain, where he offers expert care in orthopedic and spine conditions. Dr. Sharaf's education began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine from Charles University in Pilsen, Czech Republic, in 1998, followed by a Bahrain medical licensure in 1999. His passion for spine surgery led him to pursue multiple fellowships in France, culminating in diplomas in lumbar and cervical spine surgery, and a degree in minimally invasive spine surgery from Bordeaux University.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Sharaf's career has spanned roles at prestigious institutions in Bahrain, France, and Monaco, where he has consistently contributed to advancing spine surgery practices. Notably, his tenure at the Salmanya Medical Complex in Bahrain and the Nice Spine Center in France under the mentorship of Dr. Istevan Hovorka, solidified his expertise in spine pathology and surgical interventions.
Dr. Sharaf's contributions to medical literature include numerous publications on innovative approaches in spine surgery and the application of artificial intelligence in orthopedic surgery. His work has been recognized in international journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of orthopedic surgery. He is also actively involved in professional societies such as the American Academy of Neurological & Orthopedic Surgeons, AO Spine, SICOT, and the North American Spine Society (NASS).
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sharaf has held leadership positions as the CEO and Founder of Kaizen Medical Management & Training and has contributed to medical education as a lecturer at the Arabian Gulf University.
